Fun with Baby Devin

Ok, Bampa got to have some fun with Devin. Nana on the camera, ma and pa away to St. Francis, baby "alone" with Nana and Bampa. After a 35 minute sleep, Devin began checking out the place. Who is that guy kneeing beside me........ hum-m, must be one of my loyal subjects!!
I think I like him....... he has a funny face. Wait!, he's smiling at me..... I think I'll smile back.... .... can't be too sure of them kind that look like they need a haircut...... but I'll make an exception this time......
Now he's making a really funny face. That is really cool, I really like that. I can't take my eyes off of him. Wow, I'm having a great time........ I would be missing my mom and dad about now but this guy is a lot of fun.
This is neat. He's making all these funny faces and I really like it. I'll reward him by smiling. When mom and dad see this picture, they'll get a kick out of it because maybe I'll get to see this funny guy more often. He makes me laugh.
As long as this guy hangs around, I'll just look at him and stay real quiet. He don't know it yet, but I'll working up a stinky surprise for him in just a few minutes and then he's going to wonder why I'm nolonger smiling. Too bad I don't know how to work a camera yet......his look would be priceless. Hee-hee.

More inside House

Shot from the corner of the living room. Not a very big living room. That "will" change!!!!
Modest kitchen with a nice eat-in space with a straight shot into the Rec room. Door next the Frig goes into the Dining room.
Rec Room with the fireplace (gas). Nice french door on to the deck. Planning on a lot of BBQ's on that deck. Huah!!!
Jacuzzi bath........... guess where Mom and I will be spending a lot of time in. That will be a new experience !!! Not crazy about the color of the bathroom but that will change over time........... tolerable (well, barely).

Inside House

This was taken during the home inspection. Was a beautiful day.. should have moved the trucks to get a better shot..... oh well ..... shuda don't buy ya anything....does it?

Shot from the side of the house. Really nice yard to the side and front. Not much yard in the back. All trees up close. Ya take them as they come.
Back of the house........ really seclude and a lot of privacy. Mom likes it.
Front door taken from up the stairs. The livingroom ends just on the other side of the big window. Who designed that space?????
Taken from the dinning room. Stair case takes up most of the living room as you can see.

New house

Well, it's an older house (built in 1992) but it's new to us. Not ours yet....going to closing end of Nov. Home inspection next week, still have many options to kick out if we find things we don't like and can't be negotiated. Hope for the best.

Miracle

Our two happy families welcome the birth of a new member, Devin Zane. Proud father and mother shown here appear to have endured a 4am delivery unscathed and quite frankly look pretty damn good for not having much sleep. Just my un-biased opinion , but, there's a picture of three beautiful individuals...... unbiased... mind you.

Here's another shot with a better look of the li'l guy. That's one good looking kid.
Beautiful mom, and beautiful Baby. Great combo.
Pink cheeks. Can't wait to see him with his eyes open.
Devin....... Devin......... Oh, Devin........ ..... Oh, well........ maybe next time we'll get some shots of him awake...

Snorkeling on the Rivera Maya reef

Really nice garden at one of the Hotels we had lunch at during our trip to Chichen Itza. I believe Ma said that this was one of the 5 star hotels she saw on the internet. They even had peacocks roaming on the grounds. Truely an international place if you asked me.......... wha? .... no one asked ?.......... OK then...

We just boarded the boat (Emerald Queen) and that was the cockpit. There were about 40 people on the boat .
Now I was told by someone (who will remain nameless) that I could pass for a mexican............ whadoyouthink? Habla Espanol? Maybe it's the Hat???!!! Your guess is as good as mine.
Now there was also a cutie on board and she sat right next to me. She was also wearing a hat. Does she look mexican? humm-mmmm ??? Maybe it is the "hat". I donn noo-ooo ?
We had a run-in with some pirates but my cutie blew the skin off the face of her attacker and I "hongkong fooie" mine. I was glad I did my push-ups that day. Screaming also helped !!!!

Playa Del Carmen and Coco Bay

Here is Mom by the pool at the Hotel (Grand Coco Bay). The stay was nice but it was very hot and humid. If we had to do over, we would have stayed at a hotel right in Playa Del Carmen which is only three miles away. We had to take a taxi to and from town because we didn't like the walk there...... not well lit and roads were bad until you got into town.
This was right in front of the beach where mom and I spent one whole day swimming and kiyacking and snorkeling.
This was the main drag (5th avenue) in Playa Del Carmen. The street must have been around three miles long. There are hotels along the street that we would have liked to booked rooms at. Maybe next time. Resturants galore and shops in very nook and cranny. We went there twice during our stay. I don't think we saw everything because each time we saw something new that we missed the time before........humm-mmm.
Ma in front of a store. I think I need a better camera to capture the image....whayathink
I don't think Chris would have any problems here. Ma and I found two Micky D's all within two blocks of each other. Here a picture of one of them. Hahahaha-hahahahahaaaaa.

Chichen Itza, Mexico

El Castillo at Chichen Itza. Mom's hat at bottom right. Our Guide (Raphael) gave us quite an insight to it's history. Told us secrets as to why the Myan's built their temple there and not anywhere else. Interesting......very interesting

Here I am about to be eaten by a snake. Had no idea I was standing that close to the wall. Mom just said,"Hey Dad!" and took the picture.
This was the large court that had the hoops on opposing sides. This was where our guide gave us three versions of how the ancients played the game. I just remember the one where the captain of the losing team lost his head. Why do you suppose that would stick in my mind.......humm-mmm ????
At the base of the wall were glifs that told the story of the games. The three versions were because of different interpretations of the same glifs. There are still a lot that scholors do not know for sure and must only guess and deduce. Interesting......very interesting.
This was the Caracol or observatory that was restored and work is still on-going. Our guide showed us a picture of what it looked like when it was first found and it looked nothing like what we see now. He also said that the restoration can only be performed using existing old stones so they must find the original stones for restoration.......... that's why its going very slow........

St.Louis and Final Post

This was an awsome sight. The structure was imposing in it's shear magnitude and size. Man continues to display the engineering marvels of design and creativity. Though it took several hours to file through.
You wouldn't believe the contortion it took to take this
Mom had to take a shot of me even though I resisted. I lost.
What a view. Looks like it was taken from an airplane.
Lessons learned. Travel lighter, do all your traveling when you're YOUNG, and never, never, never wakeup on the living room floor.

OK City and St. Louis

OK, this is the third time I've tried to post. I dislike the internet. Bricktown, OK.
Stockyard smells
Cute cafe in St. Louis Italian district (The Hill) nestled within homes and bakeries. Nice.
Ma and me sitting at the first table next to the front door.

New Mexico

Tucomcari was a bust. We had wanted some pictures but had to pass it by. The place was really runned down and not really anything to see. The drive to NM was not eventful and the drive to OK City was that also. That is why there are no pics. The terrain changed from desert to rolling hills so gradually that it was somewhat hypnotic. Then the miles and miles of driving from horizon to horizon Put ma to sleep twice before arriving in Oklahoma City. This will be a blank in our trip but after 5500 miles, that's not so bad.

Tucson

Here we are... mature humans dedicating our time and efforts to the pleasures of a cat. Polar bear (the cat) is being tended to by Fran. Sweetpea is no where to be found. She did finally come out and "allowed" Cathy and Bob to pet her momentarily. They certainly are creatures of a loving home, and we're having a great time.... thanks to MaryAnn and Fran.
Visit to Tombstone with Fran. What a change from the last time when very few tourist are present. We virtually have the whole town to ourselves except for a handfull of other folks. Nice BBQ lunch at the Longhorn Resturant.
See how empty the streets are!!? Now "that's" the way I like it...... .... mother nature was also smiling at us that day. It wasn't quite as hot as it has been because of showers in the forecast. See the distant clouds developing yonder sky.
Desert Museum in Tucson. Wonderful place to visit if ever you're in the area. Lots to see and it really gives you a feel of nature because of the way the museum is layed out. Mom and I spent 3 hours there...... it was hot but the museum had lots of drinking fountains and places to keep cool. Really nicely done.
Got a nice tan that day. Thank God I was wearing a shirt that was cool. We saw havalinas, lizards, snakes, humming birds, Birds of all kinds, fossils, mountain lions, bears, big horn sheeps, and all sorts of plants indigenous to these part. Nice museum. Walked pass a bush that had a garter snake coiled in it. It too was trying to stay cool. Really gave you a feel of nature............ neat.
