St.Louis and Final Post

This was an awsome sight. The structure was imposing in it's shear magnitude and size. Man continues to display the engineering marvels of design and creativity. Though it took several hours to file through.
You wouldn't believe the contortion it took to take this
Mom had to take a shot of me even though I resisted. I lost.
What a view. Looks like it was taken from an airplane.
Lessons learned. Travel lighter, do all your traveling when you're YOUNG, and never, never, never wakeup on the living room floor.

OK City and St. Louis

OK, this is the third time I've tried to post. I dislike the internet. Bricktown, OK.
Stockyard smells
Cute cafe in St. Louis Italian district (The Hill) nestled within homes and bakeries. Nice.
Ma and me sitting at the first table next to the front door.

New Mexico

Tucomcari was a bust. We had wanted some pictures but had to pass it by. The place was really runned down and not really anything to see. The drive to NM was not eventful and the drive to OK City was that also. That is why there are no pics. The terrain changed from desert to rolling hills so gradually that it was somewhat hypnotic. Then the miles and miles of driving from horizon to horizon Put ma to sleep twice before arriving in Oklahoma City. This will be a blank in our trip but after 5500 miles, that's not so bad.

Tucson

Here we are... mature humans dedicating our time and efforts to the pleasures of a cat. Polar bear (the cat) is being tended to by Fran. Sweetpea is no where to be found. She did finally come out and "allowed" Cathy and Bob to pet her momentarily. They certainly are creatures of a loving home, and we're having a great time.... thanks to MaryAnn and Fran.
Visit to Tombstone with Fran. What a change from the last time when very few tourist are present. We virtually have the whole town to ourselves except for a handfull of other folks. Nice BBQ lunch at the Longhorn Resturant.
See how empty the streets are!!? Now "that's" the way I like it...... .... mother nature was also smiling at us that day. It wasn't quite as hot as it has been because of showers in the forecast. See the distant clouds developing yonder sky.
Desert Museum in Tucson. Wonderful place to visit if ever you're in the area. Lots to see and it really gives you a feel of nature because of the way the museum is layed out. Mom and I spent 3 hours there...... it was hot but the museum had lots of drinking fountains and places to keep cool. Really nicely done.
Got a nice tan that day. Thank God I was wearing a shirt that was cool. We saw havalinas, lizards, snakes, humming birds, Birds of all kinds, fossils, mountain lions, bears, big horn sheeps, and all sorts of plants indigenous to these part. Nice museum. Walked pass a bush that had a garter snake coiled in it. It too was trying to stay cool. Really gave you a feel of nature............ neat.

Vegas and beyond

Mom wanted to see the Venician again...... she got her wish. Was tempted to take a ride in the gondola but passed it up........ timing. But, it was a really neat place. Had time for gelato though. .. expensive but really tasty.
Water show at the Bellagio. ... got sprayed..... but as hot as it was, it dried soon after.
Treasure Island. Had to take the shot........ it was too cool to pass up.......... we saw part of the show the previous night with all the fireworks. Vegas knows how to put up a show............ crowd was heavy and we didn't want to see the rest of the show.
Northern Arizona. It looked a lot more dramatic than the picture showed. There were colors that did not show in the picture and it looked a lot higher probably because were were going down on a steep slope. Picture just didn't not do the scene justice.

Tucson babee! Long drive but finally made it to Fran and Maryann's. Here we are just about to take part in a wonderful Salmon meal prepared by Fran. Let me tell you it was absolutely delicious..!!!! Huah!

Vegas Babee !

After a long hot drive, we pulled into Vegas and not too worst for wear. Hit the strip and Paree was first on the list. The crowds were horrendeous but tolerable.
Mom standing in front of the Brooklyn Bridge. Took the first shot with flash and all I could see was Mom.... no bridge. Took off the flash and Mom's face is dark..... can't win for loosing!!
Shot of inside the Lexor. It's really neat that each one of those windows are rooms that you can look down from. I thought the casino was visible from the rooms but it's one floor down. Sorry.
Oh solo mio.......con tra da bien.... Ah, the music of Venice........ so romanic. Mom was so taken by this Casino that we'll be going back to it before we leave Vegas. The ceiling was so well done that It gave the impression that it was early evening with the sun just setting. Nice effect.

See the Mommy.....see her smile........I think she's happy. She doesn't want to go home. I'm going to have to hog-tie her and bring her back to the motel room. I think it's going to be hard for both of us to leave Vegas....... VEGAS BABY!!!

Long trip to Nevada

This is a view of the Mountains from Salt Lake City Utah. We stopped for food and fuel and took the shot from a shopping mall. We were also in rush hour traffic *&^%$ Boy I certainly didn't miss that !!!!
Really hot and dry in Utah. Fields and fields of potatos and then the scene changed when the mountains to the south appeared. We went from mountain, to plain, back into mountain. What a trip!!!
Into the Mountains rode the Woodbridge crew. Rock to the left of us, rocks to the right of us, ..... hummm-mmmmm? ... I've heard that before from somewhere????
You have to admit, the view is forbidding but it is an awsome beauty.

*********************************************************************************************************************We dropped some 4000 feet elevation before getting to Nevada and spend a very brief moment in Arizona on the way to Nevada.

Last day at Hobeck Campsite

Really kinda neat when you can be in the wilderness and Blog. Notice how impressed one individual is.
Rocky beach of the Snake River. Really nice when you have all this beauty surrounding you and it's deserted. It's one of those fine points in the season when most things are closed but there are no crowds.
Trip out of Jackson Hole and coming down the mountain, saw a really pretty view looking back and took the picture. I suppose that was the Snake River but was not sure.
This was the end of a lake created by a dam (forgot the name) in Idaho that offered a view which was just gorgeous.

Jackson Hole

Neat little KOA at Hobeck just outside of Jackson Hole. Got a serious hill behind separated by the Snake River. Really nice. We were the only ones using the Kabins. Had the place to ourselves.
Mommy lamenting over a day of sights. Mellow.....very mellow. Notice the fire!!! Huah! ... Man make fire.
Picture of the Snake river behind. River runs very fast.. .. a good 15 mph.... wouldn't want to fall into it..... ...
Mommy standing at the arch to a small park at the center of Jackson Hole. Got enough antlers?
More of Jackson Hole
Bet it's really neat in the winter time with the backdrop of ski lifts and all lit up. May plan on coming back in the winter...... hummm-mmmm ???

On to Jackson

View of the Grand Teton's from Idaho. Being that the South Gate of Yellowstone was closed... we had to go all the way around it via Idaho. Still an awsome sight.
More of the same....... road was long but the view remain constant. It was a streaming video of Mother Nature's beauty as she gave us a crystal clear sky to enjoy her splendor
Lunch at Driggs (a small town just before Teton Village)..... Oh miso hungry. Lunch was great. Whootat cute thing perched on the railing??????
5 miles up (real steep climb) and 5 miles down (real steep drop) into Jackson Hole. Snow and Sun....... awsome combo with a clear blue sky. Enjoy....enjoy.....enjoy !!!
We proved the myth.... Sasquach does exist..........

Creatures of Yellowstone

We pulled up to this moose on the side of the road, we rolled the windows down and took out our camera and ma took the shot. Just as the shutter closed, it decided to charge..... I gunned the car and scared it and us at the same time........ it ran away. "GOOD".....
Here are three bulls fighting in the dirt...... I guess they were playing around...... didn't look serious..... just playful.
Taking a cool dip........ wish I was a moose....
There were hot springs everywhere. Ma took this one by getting out of the car and walking closer to get a really good shot of it.......
More creatures in the park only these were not as tame as the one's above. These are dangerous when confronted with food or chocolate
